"In Paris" - Mikhail Baryshnikov in the performance of Dmitry Krymov
Directed by Dmitry Krymov and set in Paris, this is a dramatic performance with Mikhail Baryshnikov in the title role. "In Paris" is titled after Bunin's story and follows its eccentric idea.
All tickets in the great hall of the Paris Theatre de Chaillot cost the same – first to last row. The legendary theater created by Jean Vilar as an essentially democratic folk theater, and it remains so. Now the stage that ‘made’ Philip Gerard and Marie Cazares has Mikhail Baryshnikov stand upon it.
Of course, 1200 tickets for each of ten evening performances of the tour were sold because of him. Paris is interested in modern art, and of course with a new play by Dmitry Krymov in town, there would be spectators in the French capital. But it’s hard to fit half of the Parisian dancers into in a full house. Paris came to look at Misha. Well, Mikhail decided to look at Paris. When the audience took their seats , Misha stood on a darkened stage and looked into the hall and studied it.
His mid-November performance will be shown in Tel Aviv, and then probably go on a long tour around the world. The tour will not come to Russia; Baryshnikov told a French newspaper (in French – Baryshnikov refuses to speak Russian) : "I will not return to St. Petersburg neither alive nor dead."

Chernobyl Today
“The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter…”
(In Ukrainian wormwood is - "chernobyl")
Revelation of St John the Divine 8:10-11
25 years ago, on April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl Nuclear Station disaster marked the biggest accident on Earth. As a result of an explosion the Reactor # 4 was completely destroyed. The explosion was mechanical, not nuclear. There was 180-200 tons of nuclear fuel inside the reactor # 4 at the moment of an explosion: 400 kg of uranium, 400 kg of plutonium-239, and 170 kg of plutonium-240. Approximately 8 tons (4% from the total amount) were dispersed into the atmosphere.
The total amount of the emitted material was 6.2 billion curie. A fire broke out following the explosion. The burning of graphite resulted in the increased temperature inside the destroyed reactor. That is why part of the radionuclide dispersed into the atmosphere during the fire was rare-earth metals’ oxides and carbides.

In the near future, a visit to museums may be free once a week.
Kapkov, a city official, had declared that this initiative will not affect the financial position of museums. “To the many museums: the money earned tickets in Moscow is easier to compensate than to keep accountants and encounter problems with the management over the money that they earn," reports Interfax. Kapkov also expressed confidence that every Muscovite has the ability to visit any place or cultural institutions of the city.
“Each year the city authorities buy 400000 museum tickets s for students; in addition to this, there are many benefits and discounts for many categories of citizens,” said Kapkov.
In early October the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin appointed new head of the Department of Culture Capital Sergei Kapkov. The official said that he intends to preserve the historical and cultural face of the metropolis - his plans include updating the material basis of all the parks and cultural places of the capital city and returning these places to their former glory and restoring their popularity among residents and tourists.

| For Your Children |

Every parent wants their child to be successful, and life is demanding. It is clear that the future belongs to our youngest generation, a generation that is capable of intellectual self-improvement and problem-solving. Children can start developing these skills much earlier than kindergarten.
The Montessori Method is widely used, and it was used for more than a hundred years. It takes its name from the Italian physician and teacher Maria Montessori. A lot was said about this method, some still treat the subject with admiration and excitement, some approach it rather skeptically and cautiously, and there are few people who would find the subject worth of their anger.
The first Montessori school opened in Rome, in San Lorenzo neighborhood. The school was called Casa dei Bambini, a ‘Children’s House.’ Casa dei Bambini was specialized in working with mentally challenged children, and the results were so impressive that upon reaching the school age the Montessori alumni were surpassing other children of their age in certain areas of development. |
